At St. Mary’s Nursery, our vision is for every child to Achieve, Belong and Thrive.
We create a safe, happy and nurturing environment where all children feel valued and supported. Our aim is to give every child the right help at the right time so they can grow in confidence, curiosity and independence.
Intent, Implementation and Impact
Intent – Our curriculum is ambitious, purposeful, and inclusive. It is designed to reduce barriers to learning and meet the needs of every child, including those who are disadvantaged, have SEND, or are known or previously known to social care. We want all children to have the opportunity to succeed.
Implementation – We support learning by teaching, practising, revisiting and consolidating key skills and knowledge. We adapt our teaching to address gaps and build strong foundations that prepare children for their next stage in education.
Impact – Our children leave St. Mary’s secure, happy and ready to thrive. They make progress academically, socially and emotionally, developing a strong sense of self and belonging.
Inclusion and Belonging
Inclusion is woven into everything we do. We promote children’s understanding of the world, encouraging them to learn about other people, communities and cultures beyond their own. We help children to recognise both the similarities they share with others and the uniqueness that makes them who they are.
Staff Development and Whole-Setting Approach
We also recognise that to give children the very best start, staff must continue to learn and develop too. At St. Mary’s, we take a whole-setting approach, where professional development, reflection and collaboration are embedded in daily practice. By growing together, we ensure our provision is consistently high quality and responsive to children’s needs.
